“We will take the best parts of ourselves and make them gold” – CHVRCHES

I recently took a road trip for a work conference. In anticipation of this playlist blog, I started thumbing through my Spotify and found a multitude of playlists I’ve created over the years. The open road is the best place, by far, to connect with what’s playing through those speakers. So, as I took a trip down memory lane, I wanted to add some of my favorite tracks, along with some of today’s radio goodies, for a little fitness motivation.

This particular playlist I created for you guys brings the excitement, the drive, the ass-kicking fuel, and motivation needed for a fantastic sweat sesh! It is so empowering and therapeutic to crank up the tunes, get in the zone, and work a little harder than your mind tells you is possible.

Each one of these songs emits a feeling, a vibe, a piece of power from the past, present and more than likely, the future. I tend to have a song for every emotion, every season, and every action. Music is a form of therapy. It’s an energy we shouldn’t live without. The lyrics that resonate and the beats that get you singing and dancing can turn a moment around!

Isn’t it crazy how quickly you’re transported back into a time and place when you hear a certain song? The emotions attached to songs can lift you up, throw you down, make you cry, laugh, smile sweetly, dance, or empower you to conquer your run, heavy lifting, or intense sculpt class for the day. It so often gives you the strength to move through whatever it is that is challenging you at any given moment.

I have so many playlists for so many occasions. Running, lifting, yoga chill, walking the pup, at-home cooking, cleaning, hanging with friends, all-day funday jams, a ”play” playlist, high school/college songs, Country, Christian, summer vibes, mellow, Alt-Rock, and those classic solid tunes that never go out of style decade after decade.

Like I’ve heard it said before, “a girl’s favorite songs will tell you more about how she feels than her lips ever will”.

Feel all the feels. Many more lists to come. But for now, pump up those beats! Get your feet moving, warm-up those muscles, and accelerate into your workout as the tempo increases. You have the strength. Challenge yourself, and have fun!
